Outer Space Cooperation in the Middle East
Space-based infrastructure performs various vital tasks for our planet, which have become essential for the functioning of all modern industrialized societies. The space sector is also gaining strategic importance in the Middle East region. To this end, we bring together young students from the Middle East with German students to exchange ideas and develop potential for cooperation.
With renowned guests and speakers such as Major General Michael Traut (German Armed Forces Space Command) and Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Schrogl, the participants were able to gain insights into space policy. The interdisciplinary orientation of the students - from space technology to law and political science - enabled a multi-perspective approach to the topic. Interactive workshop sessions and the simulation of a UN meeting were highlights of the Winter School.
Partners are the Young Society for Security Policy and the European Space Policy Institute.
