23 Years Afghanistan Conference. Review and future prospects

November 27, 2024 marks the 23rd anniversary of the first Afghanistan Conference, which took place in Bonn in 2001 under the auspices of the United Nations. This historic event marked the beginning of the political and economic reconstruction of a new Afghanistan. On the occasion of this anniversary, an exchange with Hamid Karzai, the then President of Afghanistan (2001-2014), and other high-ranking personalities, such as the former Afghan Foreign Minister, Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta, and the Director of BICC, Prof. Dr. Conrad Schetter, took place to reflect on the developments to date and to take a look into the future of the country.

Cooperation partners are the project Leonardo the RWTH Aachen and theBonn International Center for Conflict Studies.
